Per 100 mL NaCl 526 mg, KCl 37 mg, Mg chloride hexahydrate 30 mg, Na acetate trihydrate 368 mg, Na gluconate 502 mg
Indications/Uses
Source of water & electrolytes or as an alkalinizing agent.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Special Precautions
Patients w/ CHF, severe renal insufficiency & in clinical states in which there exists edema w/ Na retention; hyperkalemia, severe renal failure & in conditions in which K retention is present; metabolic or respiratory alkalosis. May cause fluid &/or solute overloading. Monitor changes in fluid balance, electrolyte conc & acid-base balance during prolonged parenteral therapy or when necessary. Positive results w/ Bio-Rad Laboratories Platelia Aspergillus EIA test. Concomitant use w/ corticosteroids or corticotropin. Pregnancy. Elderly & childn.
Adverse Reactions
Febrile response, infection at the site of inj, venous thrombosis or phlebitis extending from the site of inj, extravasation & hypervolemia.
